Bergamos Spa Retreat

Marylyn  Reed  opened  Bergamos Spa  Retreat  in  Friendswood  in  2001. The 5, 400 square foot spa and 2,200 square foot office building are located at 313 E. Edgewood (FM 2351) and offer luxury day spa treatments, facials, massages, body treatments, nail care, endermologie, teeth whitening, airbrush tanning and yoga. The cornerstone of Bergamos’ success relies on Marylyn’s knowledge of professional skin and body products, treatment, and service as well as her ancestry. The granddaughter of Mary Kay Ash, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Marylyn   was   born   and   raised   in Pearland, then moved to Friendswood in 1999. She saw the benefits of having a business in the city, recognizing a high household  and disposable  income  in  an upscale  community  where  both  men and women want to take care of their skin  and  bodies.  Also with  a  median age of 37, this mature audience needs anti-aging care. Marylyn said “The citizens of Friendswood have been very supportive of our business, plus we feel we are located in a prime area to service Pearland, Clear Lake, Alvin, and League City.  Many of our customers are from these surrounding areas.” She previously owned a second location in River Oaks- Houston that was recently sold. Now, Marylyn is busy working on plans for a new, larger development on land they own on FM2351 that would include existing service offerings plus a new hair salon and fitness center.
